Midterms Scene Critique

This is a scene in the recently acclaimed masterpiece horror movie Hereditary, an amazing movie based on the loss of a grandmother who was left a certain inheritance to her family which seemed to slowly destroy the mother Annie who Toni Collette played. In this movie you can just see how these line of events destroy her internally which leads to her depression and anxiety, and I believe that this scene when she's at a meeting for those who have lost close loved ones. In this scene you can just see how much Annie is pouring everything on her mind out because of the recent loss of her Mother (Grandmother) and the loss of her daughter Charlie and in this scene you can just feel the pain that she's going through everything that has happened to her how much this has taken a toll on her mentally and physically and her relationships with her family. This scene was actually my personal favorite scene in the entire movie because she's not as vulnerable throughout the rest of the movie with her family.

I noticed through this scene that she tends to keep to herself when came to how she felt towards her family, and she feels that she is a burden to her family and the reason she keeps to herself is because she doesn't want to bring more sadness upon her family. In another scene when they are eating dinner you feel the awkwardness between each family, until the built up anger in Annie finally burst and she poured hate, anger, and truth from her conscience to her son due to a certain past that they have. Overall this scene really personified the feelings of sadness and anger and awkwardness with Annie.

Midterm clip

This is a quick scene that Devin and I shot at the Manchester Rec. park, and when we had originally started with scouting the area and just an idea of a quick scene and how we were going to shoot it. When we were doing this scene it was cold but we were able to make a well edited quick fight scene.
